Nine songs about second chances, six acres in north Georgia, and the family we built out of two.

About

Marlo Dean

Marlo Dean writes country songs about second chances. Under One Tin Roof, his debut album, follows one story from start to finish — two people who grew up close together but never met, both pushed off land they loved, both carrying the weight of marriages that didn't work.

They found each other later in life and built something new: six acres of red Georgia clay, a double-wide turned into a home, and two families stitched into one.

Nine songs move through childhood and loss, hard years and healing, a chance meeting that changed everything, and the slow, unglamorous work of building a life together.

A true story, told plainly, for anyone who's had to lose one home to find another.

How This Album Was Made

A new instrument, not a shortcut

Marlo Dean is a software developer and a writer by trade — words have always been the way he processes life, first online and in books. Music never was, until AI tools made it possible to finally put melody behind the same stories.

Every lyric on Under One Tin Roof is his own, written from his own life. The vocals, the instrumentation, and the cover art were built with AI, trained on his own voice and direction — a new way to unlock something that had been sitting dormant for years, not a replacement for the work real musicians put in.

He's open about it because he doesn't claim to be a trained musician, and he has real respect for people who are. This album is simply another medium for a story he'd already been telling — just set to music this time.
